Who Are We?
Who is Whitsunday Catchment Landcare?
WCL is a community organisation comprised of various stakeholders including agriculture, community and business as well as individual community members
An Incorporated and Registered Environmental Organisation which is afforded charity status and entitles WCL to receive tax deductable donations and requires the organisation to fulfil operating obligations determined by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and the QLD Office of Fair Trading.
Whats On
Whitsunday Catchment Landcare (WCL) plans for environmental, economic and social sustainability within the Whitsunday catchment by:
- involving the community in Natural Resource Management (NRM)
- emphasising the value of a coordinated catchment-wide approach to NRM
- encouraging the community to manage, monitor and minimise the effects of daily activities.
WCL provides information and advice to land managers and the community to promote sustainable land use.
WCL also develops projects and seeks funding to carry out on-ground works as well as to provide training and information to land managers.
